Four detailed development studies were elaborated to develop the situation analysis and make estimates for the feasibility of four development initiatives/ models
The performed marketing research included both studies of the international markets based on existing analysis and information and some more detailed collection of information and analysis for the potential of the regional and national markets
Four cross-border development initiatives/models were elaborated in the two identified economic spheres – 2 in Pirot and 2 in Montana.
A legal analysis was prepared to study the opportunities of the Montana and Pirot municipalities to stimulate the development of the 2 identified economic spheres through changes and/or supplementing their local legislative frameworks.Special brochures to present these products were printed.
A research concerning the obstacles and difficulties that the firms from Serbia (in particular from the Pirot), come across when trying to start business in Bulgaria, as well as about the obstacles and the difficulties that the Bulgarian firms (in particular from Montana) meet when trying to start business in Serbia was worked out. The research was shown in a brochure “How to start a business in the Bulgarian-Serbian trans-border region”
Through project exchange meeting we established long-lasting contacts between the beneficiaries. Two of them were organized in Bulgaria and two in Serbia. They have B2B and B2G match-making purposes and were also used for development of networking between the different sectors' legal representatives.
On the seminar on local legislation development we presented the opportunities of the municipalities from the cross-border region to stimulate the local economic development through changes and/or supplementing their local legislative frameworks. Best examples in this field will were presented to exchange experience between Bulgarian and Serbian local authorities in the region. A final workshop with the participation of representatives of national governmental institutions, potential investors and donors was conducted to present the results of the project.
We developed a web-based information exchange and capacity building tool. We believe that the developed web-based form for declaring public and/or private investment interest will ensure a new way for announcing the potential investor interest and to popularize the distinguishing features of the CBC region. Through the structured web-based database of companies in CBC region it will guarantee facile communication tool for finding potential investors, business partners etc.
In the future the main aim of this activity will be, aside of the sustainable project results ensure, to create an opportunity for sustainable development in the CBC region. It will provide widened opportunities for research and development of potential interest attraction possibilities; exchange of best practice, etc.
